Artist Statement

I am a senior at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster, PA. My personal experiences have profoundly influenced me. A life-altering car accident affected my eyesight. In the aftermath, I lost focus. Colors began to fade away. This change forced me to view the world through a lens of closeness and intensity. This period was challenging. Blurred visions marked the year. The essence of being an artist felt painfully distant. Yet, after undergoing the necessary surgery, my sight was restored, and with it, a renewed commitment to my craft. This experience has deepened my exploration of the intricate relationship between nature, texture, movement, and color. Through diverse mediums, I strive to create soul-inspiring pieces. These artworks transport viewers to a realm rich with reminiscent imagery. They also resonate emotionally. I draw inspiration from nature's vibrant hues and organic forms. I aim to capture its essence. I translate this beauty onto the surface with a unique and energetic touch. Each brushstroke becomes a vessel for movement, harnessing nature's boundless energy. My work invites contemplation of our natural world's ever-changing and alluring qualities, encouraging a deeper appreciation for its intricate beauty. Regaining my sight after having surgery has given me profound gratitude. I feel an urgency to express what I see. I want to foster a dialogue between the viewer and the environment. I invite you to join me. Join me on this journey of discovery and reflection. Together, we will explore the captivating interplay of color, texture, and movement that defines our shared nature experience. Together, let us celebrate the beauty that comes from clarity and obscurity. Let us appreciate the transformative power of art in connecting us to the world around us.
